nobody-excludedThe World Friends "NO EXCLUDED" campaign is launched, supporting the Social Inclusion Project for children with disabilities in the Nairobi slums: an opportunity for them and their families to emancipate themselves and fight the stigma against disability.

 

Where

In Nairobi, the capital of Kenya, where World Friends concentrates its activities. In the slums and in particular in the Kasarani area, where it is estimated that there are more than 5000 minors under the age of 14 with some degree of disability. In these areas, schools with adequate structures and programs are very rare, and health services specialized in the prevention, treatment and rehabilitation of disability almost non-existent.
How it
Consolidating and expanding the physiotherapy / occupational therapy program activated by World Friends in the slums Facilitating access to the world of work for parents with disabled children
Enhancing access to education for children with disabilities
Raising awareness of disability in the slum communities

 

What can you do
The cost of the Community Disability Rehabilitation Program for one year is 15.000 Euros. The cost of the entire activity of the Neema Hospital Physiotherapy Department is 45.000 Euros. We can do it, all together ... no one excluded!

…. to equip a gym:

  • Therapeutic Ball: 30 €
  • Muscle Stimulator: 150 €
  • Occupational therapy games and tools set: 350 €
  • Hammock for Occupational Therapy Exercises 830 €

... to support the team of physiotherapists and occupational therapists:

  • A week of therapy for a child: 20 €
  • One month of therapy in a peripheral center: 120 €
  • Monthly salary of a physiotherapist: 350 €
