The Feeding Program starts from the assumption that an healthy meal in school increases the attention in class and the regular attendance, along with the general well-being of the pupils and their motivation.
For this reason, the last month World Friends held a meeting in the Ngong Office with the Board of Management (BoM) of the school of Nendoruko, within Endoruko Community, to inform them about the possibility of a Feeding Program in their school. They acknowledged the idea extremely positively and informed us the school pupils were currently 95, with high chance of increase.
After few days, World Friends staff delivered the first supply of food to the school, consisting of: 140kg of beans; 200kg of rice; 12lts of cooking oil; 2kg of salt
The community answered positively to the project. WF staff returned to Endoruko Community and did a follow-up exercise. It was significant to realize the community is highly appreciative of the initiative and the school is benefitting from it, data shown by the immediate increase of pupils attending the school.
World Friends staff will return to the school on the half of February in order to provide the second supply of food. The supply of food will always be availed on a monthly basis, on the second week of each month.
Thanks to the Feeding Programme, supported by @professionalsecrets, Nenkororoi Primary School students can now daily access to healthy nutrition.
