Thanks to the Mobile Clinics Outreaches project World Friends is able to offer basic medical services, nutritional check-ups and counselling on family planning in 11 villages in the rural areas of Kajiado North, East and West.
During the outreaches, after having undergone a visit with the nurses or the nutritionists, the patients are given the necessary medicines and, in the cases of malnutrition or risk of malnutrition, nutritional supplements are also distributed.
Thanks to this project, the Maasai population who lives in the most remotes areas is able to access basic medical services, which would otherwise be inaccessible to them due to the long distances between their villages and the medical dispensaries and due to the high costs of transports.
Through the same funds, World Friends is also able to assist the Government of Kenya in the Nutritional Mass Screenings, which take place once a week due to last year drought, which caused a significant rise in the levels of malnutrition in the region of Kajiado.
Every year the mobile clinics provide to take care of 5322 patients.
The project is supported by Alba Care
