World Friends is working towards enhancing the health of the residents of the informal settlements of Nairobi North East by offering essential healthcare services that are not as readily available due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Thus encouraging World Friends to resume the SonoMobile activities as of May 11th. The main undertakings conducted by the team include portable obstetric ultrasound services for expectant mothers, in order to prevent and reduce maternal and neonatal deaths in Kenya and the continuous training of SonoMobile nurses. The resumption of the project activities is being achieved through enforcing and observing strict measures to lower and stop the rate of COVID-19 transmission through the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) by the nurses, mandatory washing of hands and wearing of masks for the pregnant women.
Amid the pandemic World Friends is working towards the right to health for all, united against a common enemy: COVID-19.
