As always, World AIDS Day is celebrated december 1st. This year’s AIDS Day theme was “Ending the HIV/AIDS Epidemic: Community by Community”. This is a way to underline the central role of communities in the fight and prevention of this illness.
In this occasion staff from Ruaraka Uhai Neema Hospital and World Friends planted trees around the hospital in observance of World AIDS Day. This was a community effort to raise awareness and cooperate towards reduction of HIV/AIDS-related infections and mortality.
The Ruaraka Uhai Neema Hospital has already made significant effort in expanding the Comprehensive Care Clinic. The Clinic main aim is to provide holistic care for those accessing the services. To celebrate World AIDS Day World Friends wishes to send out a message of unity to give the appropriate support in the fight against HIV/AIDS and promote the rights and health of those infected and affected by the virus.
